A domestic flight from Kihihi or Kisoro back to Entebbe connects onward to a scenic two-hour road transfer east to Jinja, the compact town straddling the point where Lake Victoria's outflow becomes the White Nile. The shift in register is immediate — forest mist and low-key trekking towns give way to a lively riverside base with cafes, craft markets and the sound of rapids audible from the road. Arriving at your riverside lodge in the afternoon, there's time to walk down to the water's edge, watch local fishermen working traditional dugout canoes, and meet your rafting guide for tomorrow's safety briefing over an early dinner.
