Your journey begins with a scenic drive to Kibale National Park — the beating green heart of Uganda, famously known as the "Primate Capital of the World." As you head south, the landscape changes dramatically: rolling hills carpeted in tea plantations, villages bustling with vibrant culture, and panoramic countryside views that whisper of adventures yet to unfold.

Upon arrival, settle into your forest lodge nestled on the park’s edge. Later, you may opt for a relaxing nature walk in the nearby community, breathing in the jungle air and letting the wilderness wrap around you.

Main Destination: Kibale National Park (Chimpanzees)

Why It’s Special: Kibale is home to 13 species of primates including the rare L’Hoest’s monkey and grey-cheeked mangabey. Its dense tropical forests also provide sanctuary to hundreds of birds and mammals, making it a birder’s paradise and a wildlife enthusiast’s dream.

After an early breakfast, venture into the tangled undergrowth with trained rangers for an unforgettable chimpanzee trekking experience. These intelligent cousins share over 98% of our DNA and watching them leap through the treetops or tenderly groom each other is nothing short of magical.

Alongside chimps, keep your eyes open for Colobus monkeys, red-tailed monkeys, bush babies, and a kaleidoscope of birdlife. Once your trek concludes, enjoy lunch before setting off for Queen Elizabeth National Park.

The journey south takes you along the mystical Rwenzori Mountains — often veiled in clouds — to Uganda’s most iconic savannah landscape. Settle in for the night at a charming lodge overlooking Kyambura Gorge.

Why It’s Special: A tapestry of grassland, wetlands, and crater lakes, Queen Elizabeth is home to lions that climb trees, elephants that roam free, and over 600 bird species — the highest of any national park in East Africa.

Today promises incredible wildlife encounters. Set off at dawn for a thrilling game drive across the Kasenyi Plains, known for its lion population and a congregation of Uganda kob — antelope whose presence signals predators nearby. Elephants, buffalo, and warthogs abound.

Return to the lodge for breakfast, then prepare for a magical boat cruise on the Kazinga Channel, where the drama of the wild unfolds up close. Watch massive pods of hippos jostle and yawn, crocodiles sunbathe, and elephants quench their thirst on the banks. The air vibrates with the calls of pied kingfishers, African jacanas, and pink-backed pelicans.

At dawn, you gather at the park headquarters for a gorilla trekking briefing, learning how to respectfully approach and observe the majestic mountain gorillas.

With expert guides and trackers, venture into the forest’s emerald shadows. It may take two to seven hours to locate your assigned gorilla family, but every moment — every footstep through the dripping leaves — builds anticipation.

And then, you see them. A silverback watching over his family, infants tumbling in play, mothers feeding peacefully. For one precious hour, you stand among beings so powerful yet gentle, intelligent yet wild. It is a moment that carves itself deep into your soul.

Return to the lodge for a late lunch and reflection. Today, you walked with giants.

Leave the forest behind and journey east toward Lake Mburo National Park, a hidden gem teeming with plains game and scenic beauty. Along the way, visit a local cultural museum showcasing the traditions of western Uganda’s communities.

Arrive in time for an evening game drive. This compact park offers surprises around every acacia tree: zebra, impala, eland, and perhaps a shy leopard crossing your path.

Main Destination: Lake Mburo National Park

Why It’s Special: The only park in Uganda with impalas and zebras, Lake Mburo is an excellent walking safari destination, allowing closer, quieter wildlife encounters.

After an early breakfast, take a guided safari walk through the park. Feel the heartbeat of the wild as your feet touch the same earth as buffaloes and giraffes. This intimate experience reconnects you with the rhythm of nature.

On your way to Entebbe, stop at the Equator, where you can stand in both hemispheres at once — a fun photo opportunity and a symbolic marker of your journey.

Arrive in Entebbe in the late afternoon in time for your outbound flight or optional extension.
