Uganda is located the east of Africa, lying along the equator and boardered by kenya I the east, Tanzania in the south, Rwanda in the southwest, democratic republic of congo in the west, and south sudan in the north.

The capital city is Kampala.

Local currency is the Uganda Shilling (UGX). The exchange rate of USD:UGX is approximately 1:3,700. However this can change anytime of the year, but averagely the rate revolves around this figure

In Uganda its very possible to change any money to Ugandan shillings so no worries about the currency you may be having, however dollars and euros are famous and easy to change.

Whether you are in Uganda for a short or long time internet access is not a problem, most if not all lodges have internet, in rural areas like kidepo valley national park, the internet may not be easily accessed when you set out on a safari but at the lodges there will be internet access so you will be able to get in touch with your friends across the globe

The Nile source lies in Uganda at the northern shores of Lake Victoria in Jinja. The river Nile is the Africa’s and the world’s longest river which stretches up to about 6,670km. however much its associated with Egypt, only 22% of the Nile course runs through Egypt. The Nile is the mother of Egypt as a nation. Here the river creates fertile green valley across the desert and its because of this river that one of the oldest civilizations in the world begun. The ancient Egyptians lived and farmed along this river using the river soil deposits to produce food for their families and animals

While in Uganda, you will be referred to as mzungu, mzungu means a white person. And this will most of the times experienced when on street in Kampala or In the villages where kids will wave hands at you with a smile on the face, you will definitely feel at home.

Uganda has been ranked as the friendliest country on the global ranking du to the friendly population. Ugandan people will go out of the way for strangers, even when you are lost, and not sure of where you are, in Uganda its not a problem, people are willing to show you where you are going or what you are looking for at no cost and with a free smile

Boda bodas are bicycles and motorcycle taxis commonly found in east Africa While motorcycle taxis like boda bodas are present throughout Africa and beyond, the term Bodaboda is specific to East Africa. In kenya they are more frequently called piki pikis. Their ubiquitous presence in East African cities is the result of a number of factors including an increasing demand for public transit, the ability to purchase motorcycles on credit, and an influx of cheap imports from Indian manufacturers like In the countries where they are present, Boda boda can provide transportation options to riders and job opportunities to drivers

But Mass transit is a white mini-van called a “taxi”. A private car for hire is called a “special hire”.

Uganda’s climate is largely tropical with two rainy seasons per year, March to May and September to December. The northern region, which forms one quarter of the country lies outside the tropical belt, and hence experiences only one rainy season, March to October.

The main languages used in Uganda are English and Kiswahili which are the two official languages, but if you want to easily cope up with life in Kampala, then Luganda is recommended since it’s the language used in Kampala however almost everyone speaks English

According to statistics times, the current population of Uganda is 48,785,302 as of October 07, 2022, based on interpolation of the latest United Nations data. The population of Uganda is projected at 47,123,531 or 47.124 million as of July 1, 2021. The total population in Uganda is projected at 45,741,007 or 45.741 million people for the year 2020. Uganda ranks number 30th in the world by population in the list of 235 countries/territories. Uganda is ranked 8th among 58 countries in Africa.

Uganda’s population will be increased year by year. The Uganda population is projected to reach 59.44 million in 2030 and increase further to 89.45 million in 2050 and 136.78 million by 2100. Uganda accounts for 0.60 percent of the world population. However, its global share increased by 0.51% in 2014 and is projected to increase by 1.26% by 2100.
